We took a Ranger led hike through the Firey Furnace area of Arches National Park. Because it is so easy to get lost people aren't allowed in this area without a guide or a hiking permit. Although the setting sun is what makes the area look like it is on fire......we went early in the day to avoid the heat.
We stopped several time to listen to information from the Ranger .
At first the trail was well defined but than in some places it was very narrow.
And Steep in others!.
One place had a narrow option that Bernice and several others crawled through.
It was easy to understand why we needed a guide.
In one area we had to scoot along on our seat using our hands and feet.
It was a great hike in my favorite National Park......ARCHES!
And we all made it out safely!
