April 30, May 1st to 25th, 2011
We spent almost 4 weeks with our daughter Cindy. She lives on a thoroughbred ranch near Vacaville, CA.
We are able to park and hook up at the end of our daughters' Mobile home.
Two peacocks, back and front views. A new ranch resident.
Cindy on the pond bridge in front of her house. We park at the right end.
Visiting with one of the foals. Our next door neighbor.
Four of Cindy's six cats.
We were in time for the consecration of the new Bell Tower on Dixon United Methodist Church.
In the afternoon there was a Music Festival with various groups singing and playing.
I even rang the Bell! It took a real effort on my part. The Bell Festival was a very enjoyable event.
On Mother's Day Hoyt took us to Olive Garden in Vacaville, CA and we even had a fruit dessert.
Cindy was getting ready to go on a RAVS (Rural Area Veterinary Services) trip to North and South Dakota. Hoyt did some work on the bus/car wiring, water leaks in the house, etc and I helped by cutting some wrap material for use in surgeries, addressing envelopes, reupholstering a chair, etc.
I also helped Cindy by taking pictures of horses teeth for use in teaching students how they show ageing.
I was able to attend a United Methodist Women's meeting while at Cindy's.
It was a luncheon meeting.
The pomegranates were starting to form and the mulberries ripened in time to be eaten.
We gave this solar fountain to Cindy but her pond was in to much shade so we moved it to the Ranch owners pond where it had more sun.
I went with Cindy one day to meet Dr Eric where they did some teaching on Rescue animals to Vet students.
We headed North the same day Cindy and Dr Eric headed for North and South Dakota on a RAVS trip.
In the morning we discovered a baby Horned Owl out of its nest. Because of the coyotes in the area Cindy decided to take it to the Raptor center connected with UCDavis, just north of where she lives.
Cindy trasplanted some iris from her yard to the creek. There are 3 turtles living there.
Cindy's bus packed and ready to head out.
A tree behind the owners house was being cut down as we left.
We had a fun, busy, enjoyable and productive visit with Cindy.
